Whitneyisms

Whitney has had a long week of being sick, and tonight she ate her first meal in about 2 days. All 3 kids have hacking coughs and green noses. Hopefully this will pass soon.

Anyway, I just had to stop and write the latest Whitneyisms before we forget this fun age. My friend Candice did this on her blog a little while ago about her little girl, and I had to do the same. These sunbeams say the most clever things! Thanks for the idea, C.

* Whitney had a little stomach bug the other day, and when Tyler got home from work, Whitney said, "Dad, today I had 'Dadarrhea' and it's not fun."

* While watching "Prince of Egypt" (a library movie), she saw the Israelites working hard on the Pyramids. After seeing Pharaoh's face, Whitney says with all the drama her 3 year old soul can muster, "Ooooooo, He's that naughty, naughty, naughty, NAUGHTY, wicked, wicked, wicked, WICKED....... what's his name again?"

* At Macy's: We walk into the men's shoe department and Whitney declares with a loud voice for the nearby salespeople to hear, "Oh Mom, it smells just like Little Pup!" Little Pup is Gma Nelson's dog. I don't know exactly what smelled like Little Pup... the leather shoes or the sales lady's over-powering perfume.

* We were enjoying "Bob the Builder" (another library movie) when this different looking character popped up.

Me: "Who is that guy with the pumpkin head?"

Whitney without missing a beat: "That's Spud, Mom. That's just how Jesus made him."

* As I was getting everyone ready to leave the house to take Whitney to preschool the other morning, I started my typical speech: "Okay, Whitney, now today I need you to be a good example for your preschool friends. I need you to obey your teacher and do what she tells you to do ... Remember to use your good manners ... At snack time please eat your healthy snack first and then you can have your treat ... If your teacher tells me that you didn't obey, then you'll lose a privilege when we get home ..." By the time we were to the car Whitney goes, "Mom, when you talk too much, it gives me a headache." Whoops!! :)

* I asked Whitney to help me make a list of everyone she wanted to send Valentine cards to. After naming off her cousins, she said, "What about Jesus?"

* Whitney asked me how to spell something and one of the letters was D. "D as in drum", I said. She quickly corrected me, "No, mom, drum starts with J.... Jjjjrum, Jjjrum, Jjjrum."

* I was talking on the phone with my friend Marianne. After I said, "Thanks, Mari. Bye!" and hung up, Whitney gasps, "MOM! Was that Mary from Jesus World??!!"
Stop growing up! Please stay cute and little forever!!

Whitney- you are too cute! My faves are "just how Jesus made him" and "Drum starts with a J". :))) Maya pronounces her Ds like Js, so I think she would have the same thought. It sounds like Jesus is on her mind alot- you guys must be doing a great job in family home evening. I hope all in your house feel better soon!

Are you serious?!! I can't get over all those DARLING Whitney-isms. Made my day! She's so darling! I need to be better at documenting those little things that come out of Avie's mouth so I can remember them - so if you see this on my blog in the coming weeks, sorry for the copycat! :)

The whole joy school speech thing is EXACTLY what happens around here two mornings a week. Too funny; our girls must be the same ages! How great of you to document all these things.

Now let's get some Tylerisms! Some of the funniest things come out of that kid's mouth. I miss you guys and those easy, breezy, care-free dental school days. rb

OH MY GOSH, I will never stop laughing. Your little Whitney is so darn cute and if she is anything near the DRAMA queens of my two girls, I know exactly how she talks!

I LOVE IT

Hey Nats! I saw your comment on Rebecca's blog and was wondering if it was you! I had to scroll WAY down your blog to find a picture of you just to make sure... HOW THE HECK ARE YOU?! I always get a newsletter at Christmas from your Mom and love the updates. Your three kids are adorable! I have 2 kids now (my son Will is 4 and my daughter NATALIE is 1 1/2). I love this blog thing. It is so fun to find old friends!
