and then the Easter Bunny came Saturday morning. We had our own family egg hunt, and Cole did surprisingly well considering he was up against a big 4 year old.
We went to a great ward Easter party. Lots of hard work went into it, and it was a wonderful activity!
Check out the cookies we brought:
We were running low on cookie decorating supplies, but Tyler and his creativity came through for me. (The lame ones with jelly beans were my creations.)Sunday was nice and relaxed because we had done the bulk of the holiday the day before. Well, it was relaxing except for the part where I took the 3 kids to church by myself.
But after Tyler got home from work, we went over to our friends' house for Easter dinner. They were so generous and kind to share their Sunday with us. We had a great time. Whitney and Cole could have stayed there another week; they were bummed when it was time to go.
When we got home, we did family night using "Resurrection eggs" and pictures from the Gospel Art kit. (You can click here to learn more about resurrection eggs; I modified this version just a little bit for my kids. I'd be happy to email you our document if you want.)We hung up about 10 pictures in the hallway of Jesus' last week (the Last Supper, Peter's denial, Him on the cross etc.) It helped keep the kids' attention as we opened each egg and explained what the symbol stood for. Then they opened up the 12th egg in the living room where lots of pictures of the resurrected Christ were hanging. It was really a sweet experience to go over the Savior's last week of life and His resurrection with them in this simple and effective way. Happy Easter everyone!

Nats. . .
I would love for you to email me your version. What a great idea! Little Annie is growing up so fast- not to mention Cole & Whitney. Wish we could see you in person.
Love ya.

Hey, your pictures are so clear. What kind of camera do you have? We are in the market for a GOOD one.
You are incredible with all that you do. Great ideas.
I actually think your cookies all turned out cute. Nice lesson idea by the way!
Your kids were so dang cute at church on Sunday in their cute little matching Easter clothes! You are so great at doing those cute little lessons and everything with your kids and those cookies are adorable! I don't know how you come up with all the things you do! Thanks for sharing your blog!
Such cute pictures and way to go on being by yourself at church with 3 kids! And I loved your last post about the joy of parenting. Evan and I always wonder why people think that kids hurt your marriage as opposed to enhance it. There's nothing like loving your own kids!
OK. Your family is just the cutest and sweetest I've ever seen. And I want to be you. I LOVE your blog because of your darling kids and your fun and inspirational ideas. Thank you!!
Seriously, your kids are just about the cutest ever! I love looking at your blog!
