On Saturday the 9th, Tyler's cousin Nicole and her friend came for a quick visit. Nicole was taking her friend on a tour of colleges up here in Nor Cal. We went out for pizza (so Whitney could use her free personal pan pizza coupon she earned from reading books this summer--you've never seen a kid so excited about a coupon!), and then watched a movie while eating delicious desserts. We took a picture or two of the girls with Tyler's new camera, but the pictures mysteriously disappeared, and we don't know why they aren't on Tyler's camera or computer. Hmmm... Oh well. Even though we don't have photographic memories of their visit, we have memories in our hearts... right? It was fun for Tyler & me to think we were as young as they were and to have their youthfulness in our home! Unfortunately, Tyler was on call that weekend, and he got a call at 3am Sunday morning to go into the hospital. The next morning the girls were champs getting the kids ready for church for me. As we were walking out of our front door to leave, who comes walking up? Tyler! He ran inside, got showered, and still made it in time for the opening hymn! Go Babe!!

The following weekend we celebrated our 6th Anniversary. It was a wonderful day! We dropped off the kids at my incredible sister's house at noon and then enjoyed an afternoon by ourselves. We went to lunch at our new favorite place, BJ's Restaurant. The salad was incredible, the BBQ pizza was divine, and the "pizookie" dessert--deadly. We had forgotten how wonderful it was to sit and enjoy a meal without our noisy kids, sippy cups, and scribbled-on children's menus. (pictures from BJ's website)
After lunch, we went to a paint-your-own ceramic shop. Tyler came up with the idea, and it turned out to be lots of fun. We each picked out a plate to decorate for each other. Then the shop glazed and fired the plates for us. I think I won the award for most un-centered and cheesiest... "We said 'I do' on 8-16-02", and Tyler won the award for best artistry. Don't you like his NorCal Nautical star? To quote my friend Tracy: "NOR CAL or DIE!" :) We really had a great time chatting and painting together. Oh, and I put the plates on our plate rack just for taking a picture... these are NOT on display at home!

Saturday we got to go to Kele & Eric's wedding. Kele is Tyler's friend from dental school. It was a lovely ceremony at a golf course overlooking the hills of the peninsula. Kele looked beautiful, and we enjoyed an amazing reception. It was great to visit and catch up with so many of Tyler's fellow '07 dental grads. Kele & Eric have a great story, and we were excited to be a part of their special day.
Phew! All this social-ness almost has us tired. I think we must have been trying to cram in all of the fun we could before Tyler's harder schedule starts up.

You are so much fun! I love that you have pics of the yummy food you ate - what a great idea and they look delicious! Could you send a bite to SLC? Maybe just the recipe.
Love the plates! What a fun date idea--lots of time to talk and still break out that repressed creative streak.
The plate--brings back memories of Meagan and your picture collage in the shape of a Y. Classic lady.
What fun adventures you've had lately. I loved the plates and despite yours being a touch off-centered, I thought it very romantic. You guys are such a kick! Happy Anniversary!
