Games we play

If any of you know the Nelson brothers, you know that they come up with random games. Whether it's an obstacle course through their parents' backyard, a contest to see who can toss the pizza dough the longest, or seeing who can bounce the highest off the couch, the boys are pretty creative.

I'm not as creative as the brothers, but I thought I'd share two games that we play:

1) Learn the Countries of the world
Rules: For this site, you get 3 chances to guess where the country is. If you don't guess it after 3 tries, you have to move on. It's hard at first, but Tyler and I learned the countries of Africa in one night. It was fun to make up mnemonic devices together and laugh at what the other one would think of. Tyler claims Branjelina had one of their babies in one of these African countries, so that was a funny way we'd remember one. Try it!

2) YouTube Old School.
Rules: Think of an old movie. Search for it on YouTube while the other person isn't looking. Crop your web brower to a square so the other person can't read the title of the movie or the web browser's title bar. Have the other person watch the clip of the movie and try to identify that movie.

So Tyler and I were playing game #2 the other night, and I thought of the old movie "Can't Buy Me Love." I haven't seen it in years, so I typed it in. When I saw this clip, I couldn't believe my eyes... this old school teenage actor is now big and famous! Can you identify this actor before his name pops up at the end of the clip?

You guys are so cute. Don't forget the awesome game we played for like hours the ONLY time we've been to your place in SF...guessing two names that would turn up in a website search as www._____and_____.com and be a website for an engaged couple. That was a fun one!

You guys are too funny! I'm glad you find ways to spend quality time together - very fun. Emma's been asking about Whitney...we should plan something soon!

So funny. I love Patrick Dempsey, have for years. I actually met him in New York when I was 14. He was walking his dog Billy Bob. Crazy huh? I wish Matt would play games that sounds like a blast.

We're not huge into games because we never (and I do mean NEVER) win. Ever. I guess that's not necessarily the point of playing. :)

Bless your hearts for living in Cali with all this craziness going on. We're hearing crazy stories from Evan's family in LA and it just makes me grateful for everyone standing up for what's right.

Oh man...that was great. I laughed at your games and at the clip. Patrick Dempsey's all the cuter when you know what a "prince" he'll end up being!

I loved that movie too. Who would have guessed that was good old McDreamy or whatever the heck they call him on that Grey's Anatomy show. I'm glad you guys play random games too. We used to the play the countries game too; I think we need to bring that one back. And we'll definitely have to try your you-tube games!

Nice try Nats, but your games will never be as fun as the boys' creative games. I love that you reminded me of the obstacle course. How sorry was that? Real funny--the kind of crap that we think of. Your games are much cooler than ours. By the way, your blogs are freakin hilarious. How is everything in CA right now? I hope it's not too scary--I've heard there's pretty bad persecution out there right now.
