Little Orphan Annie

Annie has made the wonderful leap from baby to independent toddler. She is keeping us on our toes these days with so many of her antics. Some of her favorite activities are:

* Opening the fridge, finding food, bringing it to me and yelling "NUM? NUUUUUUM? ... NUM? NUUUUUUM?" about 50 times till I open it or cut it up for her. Her favorites are yogurt, string cheese, and cherries--pits and all if I don't cut them up in time.

* Having her hair curled--but not taking it out as you can see the sadness in this picture:Those curlers were taken out just 15-20 minutes after I put the sponge rollers in. I had a feeling her hair would turn Little Orphan Annie-ish if I let her sleep on it, so I changed my mind and took them out before bed. Thankfully I did, because her hair would not have quit the next day!

* Talking in her own language: mohk, boo, duck, HiiiDee, Dooo, Nit-Nee, sheet, Beh, BEEEE!
Translation: milk, spoon, stuck, Heidi, Cole, Whitney, sit, Belle, PLEASE! Oh, and how could we forget every toddler's favorite word: "NO!"

* Playing beauty parlor with big sister

* Going potty. No, she's not potty trained. But she does have a predictable digestive system and when it's time, she will go on the potty for us. We started her out on the potty like this in April, and she would go for us while on vacation (hotel potties and all!) if we remembered to put her on the toilet. But we weren't consistent. Now that we're back home, she is back in her element--reading stories while going and everything.

* Nursery - well, I don't know if this could be listed as one of her most favorite activities, because she had a rough two weeks when we got back from vacation. But last Sunday was a success, and she brought home this:
I tell you what, the first picture they bring home from nursery is so fun--even if there are no necks on the kids in the picture. It just feels like some milestone has been achieved when your baby is holding a picture that they colored and is so proud of it. Annie didn't let go of that picture till we put her down for her nap. Yay for great nursery teachers.

* Growing up way too fast!! How is this baby almost 21 months old?! Yikes.

Ahhh! Love the Annie update. Please how can it be that I've only met her once when she was three months old?!?! Killing me here. What a big girl, on the potty and bringing home her first Nursery picture!!

Okay, just three comments here. 1) your kids are adorable. )2) Cole can't possibly be that big -- must be an impostor. 3) 9 days in Utah and not even one phone call to the Baileys -- how will you ever live with the SHAME. Boy, you think you know some people. . . .

Eliza and Annie speak the same language. I didn't even need translation for some of those! :) You know I love that girl's hair and I just can't believe how quickly she's growing up. She and Whitney are such cute sisters (and, of course, Cole is the darn cutest little/big brother around!). Love you guys.

Aaah! What happened to Baby Annie? So not fair that they have to grow up so fast. Beautiful little girl, though! :)

Oh my dear! Playing beauty parlor with sister. I'm melting right now and can only hope this next child is a girl so Mimi can do that with her sissy.
I'm dying from the curls. Wow, she looks so incredibly cute with those curlers and the end result.
I love the baby words and yes, I totally hear you on the small seemingly insignificant coloring pages that we just treasure.
How DID these little ones grow so fast? Now I know why people keep having more because the previous one got too old too quick that we just want to enjoy some more baby time. Okay so it's either that or just plain insanity. I think I lean towards the later in my case.

Oh and by the way, you are welcome to any of my photos for your kitchen wall. I truly would be honored. Your sweet compliments make my day. Just shoot me an e-mail with the photos you want and I'll e-mail you full resolution copies.

Loves!
