a few items of business

1) Private bloggers - how do you keep up with their blogs? I have gotten lazy just using my Google Reader (LOVE IT) for checking blogs when I have a minute. Does anyone have any tricks for keeping tabs on private blogs? Is there a way you can know when they post?

I feel bad because I do think of my private blogging friends often -- when cooking their recipes (Lindsay, Mary, Candice...), while using the "birthing machines" at the gym (Rebecca), and taking pictures (Annie B., Lainie...)... the list could go on and on! BUT when I sit down at the computer, those thoughts escape me and I just turn to my google reader in my laziness.

Any tips there would be appreciated.

2) addresses - I would love to send you a Christmas card, but I may not have your address. If you have moved in the last year, or recently found my blog and I don't have your email address, would you let me know what your address is? You can email me or just post a comment here and then delete it right after you post! Then no one will have your information.

Thanks!

I was seriously just telling Aaron the same thing about private blogs yesterday. I have such a hard time remembering to check them. Thank goodness for google reader! When you find a good solution, you've got to let me know.

Private bloggers can create an email list and every time their blog is updated, it sends out an email - there is an option in the settings of the blog, or they can set up an email list through google groups (you can email more people with this option). It's the only way I keep up with private bloggers - and I'm sad b/c not everyone does the email thing. When someone decides to go private, I BEG them to please put me on their email list and threaten to never read their blog again if they don't :-)

Did I send you my address? I'm losing my mind and I can't remember if I did. We moved in July.

Wow, you guys have been busy. I need to get the google reader set up so that I know when people have updated their blog. I love all the picturs and it was fun seeing a picture of you guys in front of the Alamo too. Too bad we weren't there the same time! I hope Annie is feeling better. It's so hard to see your kids hurting. I'm anxious to hear about where you guys end up. I love Colorado, but I'm sure you have lots of options. Keep us informed.

P.S. Glad you liked the picture--it always makes me laugh too, especially Chris's face!

i hate private blogs for that reason alone. it's a pain to remember to check them (when people actually update them). one reason i don't think i'll ever go private...

If you just go into the privacy settings and take your blog off the search engines, their is really no need to go private. I did that over a year ago and haven't had spam or wierdos once.

I had never heard of Google Reader . . . We'll have to set it up; sounds handy. Tracy Haws told me how to 'sort' blogs by date of last entry. I was thinking once B sets that up, we'd be able to keep better track. Let us know if you want details. KMB

You are so techno savvy. I too have never heard of Google Reader. You can be notified when blogs you read are updated? Amazing! How does it work?
Sorry, we are adding to your "private blog" dilemma. As soon as we are out of the Army we will be lifting our privacy policy. :)
