My mom and step-dad came in town for about 2 1/2 weeks. Their visit began with Heidi's baby's blessing (see post below) and ended with Tyler's graduation. They swapped back and forth between my house and my sister's house, and in the middle of their visit, my little brother and his wife and new baby visited too!! It wasn't planned for their trips to overlap, but we're glad it did, and we had a great time!
We started off their visit with Shannon getting some nasty hives. We're still not sure what caused it, but they sure gave us a scare.
Grandma said she was allergic to her and grandpa, but we're pretty sure that wasn't the case. :)
My little brother, Phil, and his wife, Ashlee flew into San Francisco on a Thursday afternoon. My mom and sister watched my 3 oldest kids while Shannon and I picked them up to take them on the San Francisco tour. I brought my double stroller for the babies:
Shannon is just 4 days older than their Wesley. They could practically pass for twins!!
I took them along Pier 39 to see some sights:
We walked along the wharf to show Ashlee the famous Bushman (click on link if you don't know who he is)...
... but right as we got to his place, we saw him putting away his tree branch and muttering, "Bushman done!" Must have been a slow day for "business."
We crossed the Golden Gate bridge, and when I took them up to the Headlands side, everything was under construction! They had this new look-out area open which was still nice though.
On our way home, we went through the city and took them down Lombard street. I got a kick out of the GPS:
We came home and had to get the baby cousins together!
One morning after the babies had their diapers changed, Annie was serenading the babies with "Telephone" (Kidz Bop version). That Wes is the smiliest kid around!
We loved seeing them play together!
Another day we took them over to our favorite animal farm and nature area:
And of course, if you come to visit us in Nor Cal, you have to go to the Jelly Belly Factory:
Yum!
We took them to see the girls' last gymnastics class:
Wes was mostly excited about grabbing Annie's hair (that she purposefully kept putting right in front of him!)
We attempted to get a shot of all the grandkids together for my mom:
but failed miserably.
We shared a quick good-bye lunch at the park before they had to hop on the airplane. Ashlee got a picture of us 3 siblings with our 3 babies:
We loved meeting Wesley for the first time, and he even learned to wave while he was here!
Ashlee is the cutest little mom. I asked her to teach me how to make some homemade baby food while she was here, and we made a peach/mango puree for the babies. What a treat!
It's hard to remember a time before Ashlee and Phil were married; it's like she's always been a part of the family. Ashlee brings out the best in my brother, and I know he is a better guy for having married her.
Ashlee & Phil have been talking about visiting us for the longest time, and we are so happy that they finally were able to make it out here. Spending time with them made us realize how much we are missing out on having them so far away in Texas. :(

Yeah! It is always so fun to have family visits. I can't believe Phillip has a baby. I still think of him as Bryan's little buddy. Thanks for all the fabulous posts!
