Cold & Windy

Today I took the kids to the park even though it was one of the windiest days ever. The weather was affecting us all--my hair was sticking straight up, Cole was complaining, and Annie was crying. Even though Whitney told me over a dozen times how "cold & windy" it was, she was determined to stay until she was purple so she could ride her scooter.
Anyway, the phrase "cold & windy" got me smiling because I was remembering the awesome Spanish Branch we used to attend. There were a couple people there who really thought our kids' names were Cold & Windy. The Spanish members weren't familiar with the American names Cole & Whitney, but they knew their weather words! They must think we Americans have the craziest ideas for naming our kids. I bet they tell their Latino friends in other countries, "You wouldn't believe what these Californians named their kids: frio & ventoso!" Fun memories.

That's hilarious! Cold and Windy, you're kids are adorable. It's so cold here we almost can't even leave our house. The HIGH has been in the teens and twenties. At night it gets to single digits. Brrrrrrrr!
