Happy Birthday Whitney!

I have a big, grown up 4 year old now! Whitney had a fun few days of celebrating her birthday. We had a mini celebration with her preschool class (since I was already teaching that week), and she had a great time. Grandma & Grandpa Decker were in town, so they spoiled her rotten. She loved having all the attention--especially with that birthday girl ribbon on.

Little sweeties dressed up for Whitney's big birthday!

On the day of Whitney's birthday, Grandma & Grandpa took Whitney to run errands and she picked out an ice cream cake. It tasted great! Tyler decided to get the kids ready for bed before the evening festivities, so these party photos have the kids in PJs, but oh well.
I think Cole liked it, what do you think?

We're so excited Whitney is 4! We love how she...
  • ...is so grateful. She remembers to say thank you without being asked, and she is very sincere about her thank yous.
  • ...loves loves LOVES her baby sister.
  • ...enjoys playing with/mothering her brother and teaching him everything.
  • ...always remembers to give big hugs and kisses before bed.
  • ...tries so hard to work on her "S's" (she has a little lisp)
  • ...is motivated to do almost anything if you threaten to take away her movie watching privilege.
  • ...can teach her grandparents how to use the DVD player.
  • ...is becoming so independent. She is great at getting herself dressed, brushing her teeth, putting her dishes in the sink, and getting her preschool snack ready -- all by herself!
  • ...LOVES to Windex the mirrors and put away laundry. They are her favorite chores, and she does a great job at them! She takes pride in doing her work, and it really does help me so much.
  • ...sincerely wants to know more about Jesus and loves to teach us about Him.
We're excited to watch how she grows up even more this year. Thanks for being our little sweetie! We love you, Whit!

I can't believe how fast they're growing up! Happy Birthday Whitney! She is so beautiful. Eliza loves Hello Kitty too. It's fun comparing with your family since ours is kind of identical, kid-order wise. :) Hey, question for your husband: Eliza has a permanent tooth growing in behind (not under) a baby one (the dentist just saw the bump yesterday). Is there anything we can do besides wiggling to encourage the baby one to come out so the dentist doesn't end up having to pull it? It's not very loose. She's just beginning to like the dentist and I really don't want to traumatize her!

Let me know when/if you do go to So Cal and I'll give you all the little tips I got from friends. They came in so helpful and saved a lot of time waiting in line!

Aw, is that Cole's haircut? I think he looks fine. Luckily whenever I mess up Will's hair it just grows back a few weeks later! And yes, the sheep shearing never ends... ;) And now that summer is almost here I can just set the razor to a 2 and shear away!

Happy late birthday to Whitney! I can't believe she's already four. It seems like yesterday she was a precocious little baby signing "hat" or a fully potty trained two-year old. Big things are in store for sure!
