Whitney started up ballet again. She was so excited for her first day. As I was getting her hair ready, she said, "Mom, will you take a picture of me by the front door like jujitsu?" I guess having our amazing front door as a backdrop is becoming a tradition for "first day" events like these. But I need to not turn the flash on so harshly. Check out those shadows! whoops!

Please check out these tights.
Her ballet tights from last year had a hole in them, so we improvised.
I put her ballet and tap shoes in her little pink backpack, so she was all ready to go.
We got there right at 10:00. By the time I hauled the kids out of the car and opened the door to Whitney's class, the clock in the room said 10:02. The music was already playing, and the instructor was already teaching. I thought, "Man, this teacher is so on the ball!" I closed the door and walked over to the park to let Cole play while we waited for Whitney. I got talking to one of the other dance moms at the park, and I discovered that I opened the door to the 3 year old dance class--the one that goes from 9:45-10:30! How embarrassing! By 10:30, I put all the pieces together that her 4-5 year old class is after the 3 year old class. Thankfully, the teacher was kind and forgiving of my mistake and had Whitney stay for her "real" class. I'm going to do better this week.

Did I mention that he likes to take my nursing pads and wear them around the house? Yeah, he calls them his armor.
I caught him wearing this necklace and hat before bedtime just hanging out reading books to himself like it was no big deal.

Whenever Whitney says, "Mom, come here quick!!" I have learned that I need to run fast and hopefully have my camera handy. This is what I found last week:
Fluorosis, anyone?
Also, last week while shopping in Trader Joe's Cole yelled out of nowhere, "RRRRRRRrrrrrush Limbaugh DOT COM!!!!" Not the best thing to shout in what I would assume is a green/liberal store. Luckily he didn't yell any anti-Hillary quotes from Rush; we might have gotten kicked out. I guess I need to turn back on the Disney music in the car.

She's not too into rolling around (she's done it twice now on her own), but she's really into sitting up. If she gets too excited and starts wiggling her arms and legs too much, then she'll fall over, but for the most part she's pretty stable!

Cute family. I love that Whitney does ballet. I want to start Lannah in the fall, she's pretty clumsy, so I'm hoping she'll do okay! Annie is getting so big and she is adorable!
Not sure why I love your blog and your posts so much, but I do. You are hilarious and inspirational. And your kids are the cutest. If you ever want to move in next door to us, we will say OK.
Oh how cute are those faces of Annie's! I miss Trader Joes!
s always, darling kids! I loved the Rush L. story! I'm addicted to talk radio and I knew it was time for something else too when Will started asking about terrorists and wanted me to explain the election process...
I have a feeling that if all I did was hang out at your house, I would be laughing all the time. Cole's a keeper! Good for you for keeping a record of the priceless gems that come out of his mouth (blue goo, too!).
Not boring at all! Loved the update. The fiasco with ballet, Cole just chilling in that AWESOME outfit, beautiful Annie and her big bow (you know I love that stuff!). . . etc., etc.. Love your family!
Love,
Annie - the Karren kind
What cute kids. You know you listen to the same station too much when your kids can sing the commercials and the jingles for the station! Love the Limbaugh!
It looks like Cole and Adam Drew have the same stylist. Your comment about the nursing pads cracks me up! It reminds me of my little brother whirling around my tampons by the strings because he thought I had a magical stash of nunchucks.
I can't believe Annie is 6 months old already!! When did that happen? Whitney is just gorgeous, it pretty much bugs! :) And Cole is killing me. Does Grandma Linda know about the Rush Limbaugh outburst?? That is hilarious!
So I've been stalking your blog for a little while now and just have to tell you... you are entertainment. I love your family updates and especially the random bits on elderly people. Fantastic!
Your blog is so funny. I love to hear what those hilarious kids say. The Rush Limbaugh comment is one of my all-time favs. And Annie's 6-mo pic is TO DIE FOR!!! Great work, Nats!!
Nat,
I just LOVE you and love your blog! I steal your ideas from you. I love all your updates of you & your kids. I hope Cole is feeling better? What exactly is this sickness he got? I hope he feels better soon and you are such a good mom. Bless your heart, too!
