Last week we had some fun visitors. Grandma & Grandpa Nelson came in town for a medical conference. They spent a few days with us, then stayed in the city for a few days, and then came back for a few more days. The heat got unbearable (as I already complained) while they were in the city, but thankfully the weather got its act together and cooperated nicely for the rest of their trip.
Some of our highlights were:
* Walking to buy fireworks and watching the kids do sparklers
* Taking a morning walk to a restaurant for breakfast
* Attending church together
* A trip to the city to visit my cousin and meeting Grandma & Tyler for lunch
* Grandma taking Whitney & Cole to see Kung Fu Panda
* Annie's first haircut--Thank you Grandma!
* Countless trips to playground(s)
* Riding the ferry over to the city for gelato and pastries
* Unlimited babysitting--THANKS a ton!
* Getting quizzed by Grandpa from his medical textbooks
* Walking to feed the ducks and play baseball
* Visiting a mini-science museum
We really had a great time. It's always fun for the kids to have exclusive one-on-one time with their grandparents and not have to compete for their attention with other cousins. We don't know when we'll see them again, but we do know that it won't be soon enough! Here are some pictures from last week:

Grandparents are the best, that's all there is to it. I hope you guys get some relief from the heat soon, yuck!
How fun for you guys! Cute haircut on Annie-I can't believe how big she's getting! Have fun in the heat-hopefully it's cooling down for you guys. If you start to miss it, there's always Arizona! :) And we miss having you guys as Baylee's nursery leaders.
What great pictures! I just loved your post of the family stay-cation! Those are the best. It's so fun to just enjoy time together. I would love to try camping, but we need our baby to get a little bit older probably. What an adorale family you have. I visited the same redwood forest when I was in San Francisco 4 years ago visiting my sister. I'm so glad you are doing well and you are a fabulous mother and inspiration to all. It's always so good to hear from you and thanks for all the compliments. We miss you guys too. I can't wait until we can meet up again.
Looks like a great visit - thanks for sharing. It's fun to see pictures of everyone. We miss you and wish we knew the next time we'd be able to see each other. We love you guys! We love your blog it has been nice way to keep in touch with you guys.
Looks like little Annie sat pretty still! It's always sad to see the little baby hair go away, but that girl has such a gorgeous head of hair. I love having a blonde--never imagined I'd have a blonde--but that dark hair on Annie's head. She is so Anne Geddes material! I love the pic of Grandma reading the story. Little Whitney so inthraled with her cheek in Grandma's shoulder. Then little Cole. That kid never stops cracking me up. Such personality.
Look at how grown up all your kids are getting *sigh!* I miss you guys!
We loved seeing all the great pictures. Looks like Grandma Linda and Grandpa Steve had a fun visit with ya'll. Love you.
