Whitney Update

Whitney has had a fun-filled July. The week after Grandma & Grandpa Nelson came in town, Whitney took a little soccer class. It was darling, and she got some great exposure to the sport. The coaches were great; they kept the camp fun and relaxed. It was nice and cool that week too; I think the high was 72*, so she wore her jacket most mornings.

After her week of soccer camp, we got to enjoy a visit with Tyler's sister Marlie & her family for the weekend. Whitney couldn't get enough of her newest cousin Wesley, and she loved drawing pictures for Marlie. It was really fun, and I love it when the kids get to spend quality time with their cousins.

Then Whitney started up swimming lessons. We have been really pleased with Whitney's lessons this year. Last year there were about 5-6 kids in Whitney's class and it was mostly just a "learn to get comfortable in the water"-type class. So that's what I was expecting this year when I signed Whitney up. But my expectations have been surpassed to say the least. Whitney only has 1 other kid in her class, so the teacher is able to spend lots of quality time with the students. On Wednesday the other kid didn't show up, so Whitney had private lessons! The teacher was telling me that Whitney has been progressing really quickly, and I think it has to do with the small class size and super teacher we have. This week will be our last week, and we'll be sad when it's over!

Couldn't resist throwing in these pictures of Whitney before her first day of class. I have to give Aunt Marlie credit for these cute little outfits though. Marlie brought the swimsuit and blue onesie when she came to visit, and she gave the little jean skirt to Whitney when she was this age!

So who has the next reservation at the Nelson B&B? :) I'm jealous that you ALWAYS seem to have family in town!

How adorable are those last pictures of your girls?! Sounds like you've done a good job keeping your kids and especially the oldest, busy this summer! I need to do a better job of that.

Holy Shnikies! Your kids are beautiful! Whitney looks like a young Heidi Klum in the picture with the bathing suit, and Annie looks like she could be the next Gerber baby!

First off, Whitney is a super model! Second, I'm so honored you and Malinda would bookmark my primary blog. You did know that this is Sofia from the bay area right? Anyways, right now my primary blog is under review from local leaders to see if I'm in harmony with gospel teachings. I may have to shut it down if they ask me too. I'm pretty bummed. Keep the blog in your prayers!

My kids love SuperWhy too! The song IS pretty catchy. I will have to read that pioneer book-- I forget to be grateful. Sarah is named after Sarah Emily Wall, an ancestor of Ash's that was in either the Willie or Martin handcart company, I always forget which. You capture the best expressions on your kids, that one of the 3 of them on the couch is priceless. Oh, and we weren't in the huge Days of 47 parade. They have a children's parade about a week before, and that's the one we were in. Miss you guys!

I love those pictures of your beautiful girls! Whitney looks so grown up and I love her braids. You'll have to tell me how you make your cute picture collages on your blog posts. They're really cool. Oh, and nothing holds a candle to the Marin City concert we went to- that one had SOUL!

That little Annie is a DOLL! I seriously can't get over it. How do you keep from kissing those cheeks off?
You are such a fun mommy getting Whit involved in so much. Soccer is definitely the first organized sport I'm gonna but Vance in. Drew has even suggested sending Vance to a Brazilian Soccer Camp. Maybe some day when he's older and can pay for his own airfare right? :)
