We started off the day with our own family turkey trot through the hills by our place. We usually like to sign up for a 5K or something, but with Tyler being chief resident right now it just wasn't possible. Wish we got some pictures of our family hike/jog through the hills; it was a picture-perfect day.
After cleaning up from that and cooking our assigned items, we went over to enjoy the holiday with my sister and her family. My sister is the hostess extraordinaire and does a great job remembering the little details that make fun memories.

Like our place holders (that I think she let Lauren make)...
...pilgrim/indian dress-ups:
...and coloring activities for the kids.
(That drawing above is clearly not a depiction of the first Thanksgiving... we reminded Cole of how nice the Indians were to the Pilgrims, I promise!)
What a feast!!
Heidi made the turkey, stuffing, mashed potatoes, and sweet potatoes; I was in charge of the rolls, asparagus, jello salad, and pumpkin pie.
Here's the 3 year old table:
And the big kids' table:
At the end of the night, we enjoyed our "cornucopias" (sugar cones filled with trail mix and stuff) and talked about our blessings together around the table:
Crazy to think that this was our 7th Thanksgiving out here in California! We have great memories of spending the majority of our Thanksgivings here in my sister's home... like this one in 2006:
We would love to have them come to our new place next year for the holiday if they don't have other plans... that is, assuming Tyler ever signs a contract for his new job! ;) We'll post the news once things are finalized!
