Tyler's Birthday, Whitney's Birthday, St. Patrick's Day celebrations, and Daylight Savings all hit us within 3 days of each other this year. I can handle the first 3 events, but throw daylight savings in the mix, and it's enough to make you feel sleep-deprived for a week!
Here are the Saturday/Sunday Celebrations we did. Whitney's birthday (Monday, 14th) will have to wait for another post.
Saturday started out lovely with the St. Patrick's Day Parade.
We had great company to celebrate with:
And great weather too!
Since Tyler's birthday was on Sunday, we celebrated early on Saturday night by going to a Mexican restaurant that we've been driving by for the last 4 years. Delicioso!
Forgot to get the food in that shot above... Here's the breakfast: monkey bread and fruit.
He spent a few minutes opening the few presents we got him. Mostly coupon books and other random things... like Annie's rain boot that she wrapped up herself:
We enjoyed a lovely Sunday at church (except for Cole's primary talk disappearing as we were heading out the door and then having to hand-write a new talk on scrap paper during 1st hour). When we got home we made Tyler's birthday dinner request, BBQ Chicken Salad, and ate some turtle cake for dessert.
BTW--Found Cole's talk Sunday afternoon tucked in my recipe book while making that cake. Bad mommy! This cake ended up being so rich that we each had our bites and then tossed the rest. No one in the house wanted to see that cake again!
Whitney made this poster below for Tyler. She drew Tyler, Shannon (I guess Shannon had been a cry-baby that week), and herself. Then she asked me and Cole to draw pictures of ourselves and write nice things about Tyler on the poster. You can probably tell! which! words! are! Cole's!
And I think Annie is neglected on the poster because she was taking a nap? Whoops. I wish I had thought to make a similar poster for Whitney on her birthday. She is really a thoughtful little gal and teaches me so much.
So, happy 31st to Tyler. I remember when we were first married and setting our goals for the future. We calculated out that if we could complete dental school and oral surgery residency on the fastest track possible, we would be finished when we were both 31. I remember how our jaws dropped as we thought about how ancient and crippled we'd be by 31.
But now we're here and we still feel like we're 22! And you may have noticed by ticker on my sidebar that Tyler has only 3 months left!!! How is that possible?! Way to go, Tyler!! :)

How fun to have a St. Patrick's Day parade to attend.
Loved seeing pictures of everyone - the kids are all getting big and so cute. Would love to see more pictures of Natalie.
