What's Cole up to?

I want to catch up on Whitney/Tyler's recent birthdays, but first I need to post some pictures of Cole from the first quarter of this year.

Tyler took Cole's training wheels off around his birthday last fall, but in January they really spent time perfecting his bike riding, and I finally got some pictures of his new skill!

One night I walked past Cole's room and saw the stuffed animals all over the floor. I turned on his lamp and saw him snuggled up with all 3 of his shark friends.
Apparently he had some specific friends in mind that he was searching for!

Another day, Cole came and got me and Whitney to show us the SURPRISE PARTY he had for us in the bathroom!!

The boys

This is what you get when you say, "Cole, go get ready for preschool!"
I love this kid and his awesome taste in clothes.

Make sure you don't go that ONE way...

We took the kids over to this mini-theme park the other weekend. You would have thought they entered Disneyland with how excited they were. Cole went on this dragon roller coaster all pumped up and ready to go...
...but the operator had to stop the ride and let him off. Cole's not a fan of thrills, I guess.
He prefers cruising in his Batmobile.

Oh, and the other day I was folding laundry (and sheets and blankets) on the couch. I told Cole he could have some chips after he finished his sandwich and apple. He finished his lunch, so I put his chips in a bowl at the table, and then put Annie & Shannon down for their naps. When I came back, I found him like this:
Cole had pulled a chair over to his reading spot and put his chips on the chair. He knows the rule to not eat at the couch, but he didn't want his chips out of sight. I watched him sit there and read for the longest time. When he finally was ready to eat, he just picked up his bowl and went to the table. I got a kick out of this clever solution to his dilemma.

And this month, we've been working on Cole's penmanship. I had him write the alphabet (Aa Bb Cc... etc.) on his lined paper so I could see which ones we needed to work on. We've been tackling a few a day on this dry erase board:
Best $2 I ever spent! Why is it so much more fun to write on a white board than boring old paper?

Such a sweet update! How fun for Cole to get bike practice all year long!! Carson would die. We're also working on perfecting letters...Carson loves it but gets so frustrated. Hmm...we'll see how the transition to all day kindergarten goes! Give that cow hide wearin' boy a hug for us!! :)

Oh my goodness. I love this boy! My favorite picture by far is the one of his preschool outfit.. haha. That was a pretty sweet party he threw for you and Whitney. Did you just die!?! Too funny. Tell them to stop growing until we get out there in June.
