Sporty Whit

CHEER
I was going through some old pictures and realized I never posted Whitney's cheer camp that she did with her cousin back in March. She and Lauren were the littlest girls there, but that didn't stop them from having fun! The sweet high school girls took them right under their wings and made them feel like high schoolers for a day.

They put on a performance for the parents at the end of the day, and I was sure impressed with all that they learned in just a few hours.
I know this shot below is the blurriest picture in history; I was on a self-taught crash course of learning how to take pictures with that lighting in the gym. But I still enjoyed this picture of Whitney jumping; she wasn't afraid to try anything that day!
 Enjoying their post-camp frozen yogurt!

JOG-A-THON
In April, Whitney's school did their annual jog-a-thon. Cole, Annie, Shannon and I went to the school, but we didn't go inside. We stayed outside of the fence and cheered from the sidelines; I didn't want to risk Cole or Annie running onto the field when I wasn't looking.

I loved showing up and watching Whitney before she noticed we were there. So fun to watch kids in their element when they don't know anyone is watching them:
Oh... hi mom! You didn't see me playing around with those boys, did you?
(The blur along the side must have been the black fence posts I was putting my camera lens next to!)

The volunteers put a stamp on the kids' backs each time they complete their lap. Whitney had this lady with the pink shirt on stamp her each time she came around.
Last year in kindergarten, I think she ran 15 laps, so we pledged her $1/lap this year. She ran her little heart out and ran 26 laps this year!!!! Way to go, Whitney!! :)

GYMNASTICS
Whitney has also been involved in gymnastics this year. She is just loving it, and we are so proud that she passed off all of her requirements to advance to the next level of gymnastics. Woo-hoo!
Here's Cole reminding us that Whitney is #1!! She has really enjoyed her classes here and we hope she will find another class that she enjoys just as much in Southern California.

Love it! I did gymnastics at her age - so fun for the memories to come back!
