Saturday we enjoyed a lovely Ward Easter Devotional and Egg Hunt. No pictures of Annie getting her feelings hurt, refusing to hunt for eggs, and declaring "I HATE Easter!!!" Nor do I have pictures of Cole collecting more than the allotted number of eggs and then placing his excess eggs on the ground near where Annie was pouting. No pictures of Annie "hunting" for Cole's extra eggs around her feet and having a change of heart saying, "I LOVE Easter!!"
No pictures of us dying Easter eggs with the cheapest, worst egg dye ever. Our eggs turned out pretty lame--if anyone out there has any eggs decorating tips or ideas, please pass them along. Whitney & I read a book about pysanky eggs recently, so maybe we'll venture out next year doing something like that.
I did document our Sunday activities.
Tyler had to round on some patients at the hospital Sunday morning, so I got the kids ready for church while we waited for him. After he got home, we let the kids find their Easter baskets and the plastic eggs hidden in the living room (we took down the bunk bed that weekend, so please ignore the big gray poles behind Cole).
In case you're wondering, our Easter bunny brings these things: a swimsuit, a toy, a chocolate bunny (or peeps if you talk about them non-stop so the Easter bunny knows that you want those things), and a book. The Easter bunny forgot the books this year though! I believe they are still under her bed. DOH!
After church, we quickly took some pictures of everyone down at our complex's common grounds.
Coral was our color of choice this year... I was really trying hard to coordinate and not exactly match the girls' dresses, but I couldn't resist Annie & Shannon's dress. I fell in love with it and couldn't get just one!
Like my sister noted recently, the novelty of this baby still hasn't worn off!
Before giving me real smiles, Cole requested that I take some pictures of his "smolder..."
... in case you haven't seen Tangled, this is where he learned the smolder:
My sister and I planned on spending Easter together, but she was ordered to take it easy by her doctor because she had pre-eclampsia (she was 38 weeks along). To make things as stress-free as possible, we kept our menu assignments, but didn't physically eat together. Instead, I brought over my 1/2 of the menu to her, and she sent me home with her 1/2 of the meal.
While I was over there, I took a few Easter pictures of her kids. I thought this one of her little Lauren reminded me of my sister when she was a little girl SOOOOOOOO much! Such a little beauty!
Little did these kids know that they would be holding their new little sister about 36 hours later!
We enjoyed our meal at home with the quickly-thrown-together sheet on the card-table: and sparkling cider to sip on. Apparently Whitney's bubbly had a little something extra in it. She got the giggles over who-knows-what?!
That night after Family Night (we do ours on Sundays b/c of Tyler's schedule), we decorated our Easter cookies for our activity/dessert. We let the kids use their candy from their Easter baskets, so there were some random combos.
Little Annie was much more proud to display her chocolate bunny than her sugar cookie. Smart girl, digging into the big chocolate guy first! :)

How could the baby novelty ever wear off of baby Shannon?! She is just so kissable and beautiful like all your babies/kids. Love your Easter pictures on the wall. Always the best, most thoughtful, organized mommy. Love you guys. Xoxo
Cole's smolder is the BEST! Seriously dead on. Move over, Flynn.
You did good for only forgetting the books. Seems like the Easter bunny over here completely forgot the baskets all together. Yikes.
Love the pictures and the updates, as always.
Hugs all around!
