I really have missed my blog. Since my camera broke after Shannon's birthday, I haven't been documenting many things with pictures!! :( I never realized how much I loved taking pictures till "my precious" broke. I really really miss it.
Tyler's (entire!) family is coming in town in a couple of days so Santa wrote us a note saying he's coming early (on the 20th) because he wouldn't have enough room to drop off toys with everyone here. One would think that I'd be deep cleaning my house and prepping for Santa & the Nelsons' visit, but instead, I think it's time to update the blog, right?!

We went swimming the Saturday before Halloween; it was so nice!
Shannon was actually enjoying herself this time... a first!
After everyone worked up an appetite swimming, we went to try a new restaurant called Wood Ranch. Annie's really into sounding out how things are spelled these days, so when Tyler told her where we were going, Annie said, "Wood Wanch has two R's in it, Dad! Ww, ww, wwood... Ww, ww, wwanch!"
While we were there, Annie stood up on her chair and yelled at the kitchen (which was basically behind our booth), "10 minutes on the clock, chefs!!!"
If you've seen the show "Chopped" on the Food Network, then you'll understand what she meant. A couple of the cooks in the kitchen were chuckling, so we think they knew what she was referring to.
We hiked the Hollywood sign the first weekend in November.
Pros:
* Cool views of L.A.
* Kids did great considering it was 2.5 miles each way!
* Paved so we could bring our trusty little umbrella stroller.
* It was a mild hike (MUCH easier than Mt. Timp caves or "Y" Mountain)
Cons:
* Not getting to stand as close to the sign as we wanted:
* Smog over the city center:
* Hiking the wrong way for 20 minutes downhill and having to back track uphill. DOH!
* Wanting to use the picture below (that someone took for us at the end of our hike) on our Christmas card, but realizing we look a little homeless
... okay, a LOT homeless!!

I'm still chuckling about the homeless comment (don't agree with it, but the comment hit my finny bone). Your blog always makes me smile. Good luck with all the Santa and Nelson prep...with your four kids....you're a good woman! Loves to you and yours. Xo
No way you guys aren't even close to being homeless...you even live in a nice home now. Way to lucky. And you even get to go swimming in October. Double lucky.
