Dad

What kids don't love to wake up their daddy on Father's Day?! The excitement level was off the charts as these little Nelsons brought Tyler his breakfast, candy card, and Sun Chips box full of 2 presents. Annie's face here might be my new favorite. (You can probably guess what sound she was making with her face like that...)
Whitney did the whole candy card by herself. While we were at the grocery store I let her throw in all that junk food in the cart, and when we got home she went straight to her room and didn't come out till her present was complete.
The kids loved giving Tyler their presents they made at school.
After church he took a nap while the kids & I made him milanesa (his favorite food from Argentina--kind of like a fried steak thing?), mashed potatoes, cauliflower, and watermelon.

For dessert, we made him a cherry pie. He requests cherry pie all the time, but I never listen to him b/c 1) Those cans of cherries are so darn expensive, and 2) I don't want to spend the money if no one else is going to eat it.

But after nearly 10 years of marriage, I finally did it. I forked over the cash at the grocery store, got the cherries, and the kids and I made the pie together. Unfortunately it turned out looking like someone killed it! :/ Sorry babe!
Everyone "tried a bite to be polite", and I think it's safe to say that Tyler is still the only cherry pie fan in the house.

Happy Father's Day to our
brilliant,
handsome,
quick-witted,
hard-working
provider, teacher, protector
& Father...
Tyler!!
xoxo
