Provo Nerds

I have a special place in my heart for Provo, Utah and the days I spent in that city while attending BYU. Since Tyler's family isn't too far away from Provo, Tyler & I like to take the kids there whenever we visit.

We took them bowling at the student center to show them how fun college is...

And Shannon spent most of her time trying on everyone's shoes while sporting her leash.

We took them to hike the Y, and they did surprisingly well!!

All this hiking is tough work, dad!

Oh wait... Tyler carried Shannon the ENTIRE way!!

We also took the kids over to the dorms to see the Hall where Tyler & I dated freshman year. Whitney insisted on getting this pic with Tyler's phone.

Oh yes, that is Whitney Hall behind us, and not only are we nerds for taking our picture in front of it... but now our firstborn thinks she was named after a building at BYU. I did explain to her that Elizabeth Ann Whitney (who the Hall is named after) is my 4th great grandma. My mom's parents (nana & grandpa) told me about my heritage when I was a freshman in Utah, and I've always felt proud to be a descendant of the Whitney family.

Soooo, Whitney, even though Dad & I happened to have met in Whitney hall, we promise that you were named after our ancestors... not the dorm building! ;)
