When we found out that the kids had a week off of school for their October fall break, we knew we had to go back to California. Not only did we have our Disneyland passes to use, but Tyler was starting to get the shakes without being near the beach.
Our 2 hour flight was great! Shannon was a beast though--thanks to Tyler for taking care of her.
We got off the plane and as we rode in the shuttle bus to our car rental place, Tyler said, "Look at the freeways!!!" as if he'd never seen anything more beautiful. He then began to sing the praises of California drivers.
We found the first In-N-Out we could, and then drove straight to the beach for a few hours. It was a lovely afternoon!
This baby is definitely Tyler's... she was such an ocean lover!
Tyler was so great playing with all the kids out in the water while I stayed dry on land.
I commented on how neat the little rocks on my feet felt, and Tyler pointed out that they were actually tiny shells all over the place.
So beautiful!
Of course while we're there, Tyler has to bury someone in the sand...
...and Shannon has to chuck sand in their ear while they're helpless & trapped.
We attempted a jumping photo off the dunes, and we never really got that "1-2-3!!" coordinated jump down. But we'll keep trying!
Oh, and I had to edit Annie a bit because her swimsuit was sooooo loaded with sand it just didn't look appropriate to post!! :/
After a nice afternoon on the beach, we drove up to our old city to spend the night with Tyler's uncle and his family.

Such a fun little update - love the pic of Cole with his drink on the plane. Little cuties, all of them! I miss the beach!!
