CA Trip Day 3 - Monday

Monday morning we woke up early and drove down to Disneyland to meet Tyler's cousin (Cam) and his family. We spent the day in California Adventure, and got to see the new Cars Land area. Disney has an amazing way of transforming you into their movies, and Cars Land was no exception! We felt like we were in Radiator Springs--even at night they have the neon signs just like the show.
They have this big tire ride that moves just by sensing your movement. Pretty neat technology!
Tyler & Cam took the kids who were tall enough over to Haunted Mansion. Annie & Cole look scared for their lives!
I love the awesome faces these guys make on California Screamin'
Trish (Cam's wife) was a pro Disney go-er. She's lived in L.A. & Florida so she knows how to efficiently go through these Disney theme parks. I loved having her around! She showed me this Redwood area I'd never been to. It was a great place to stop and let the kids run around and explore.
One of the highlights of the day was riding in the spinning cage of the ferris wheel with this cute family. We were all about to wet our pants from laughing so hard!
We said goodbye to our cousins...
...and then headed over to our hotel to check-in and get changed into our Halloween gear for Mickey's Halloween Party that we were going to that night.
What a fun event! They close out the whole park from about 6-midnight, so only people with the special event tickets can get it. It's a great (relatively) non-crowded way to experience Disneyland.
Disneyland also has trick or treating booths throughout the whole park where you get TONS of candy (and apples & carrots & raisins too!).

The fireworks show was amazing. They project a show on to the Small World castle/building and everything was done just wonderfully. Can you see Ursula's shadow being cast on the building?
We were in awe! The kids were troopers staying up so late considering we got to Disneyland so early that morning. We walked back to our hotel and crashed!!
