Saturday morning Tyler left our hotel room early to go grab some donuts for Cole's birthday. We woke Cole up and whisper-sang the happy birthday song so we wouldn't wake up the people behind the paper-thin walls of our hotel.
We packed things up and flew back to Colorado. When we picked up our car from the lot where we had parked, we realized we left it unlocked the whole week we were gone. Thankfully everything was safe and sound!
When we got home, Cole & Tyler cooked a birthday cake while the girls & I wrapped presents upstairs. Cole was sure patient as we tried to get organized for his birthday.
We hid his presents and Cole found them (video HERE if you like). Then Cole posed for a few pictures.
Those are his new Jack Skelington (sp?) gloves he bought with his own money at Disneyland.
We got him new clothes which weren't too exciting to open,
but the Ninjago guy Whitney bought him with her own money was VERY exciting!
Thankfully the one toy we got him was a big hit!! He was so excited--in case you couldn't tell!
Cole put the candles in the shape of a 7, and Tyler cut pieces of cake and served them up on plates before we sang to Cole. A ghetto photo op? Probably, but Cole could have cared less. He was so excited to have that big lego set--who cares what the cake looks like?!
Cole told us that it was the best birthday ever. And we were so happy he felt like it was a good day--all the traveling we did all day long sure made us tired and not really in the mood to party. But I'm so glad we stopped to celebrate Cole's special day. Whitney even made sure we sang to Cole at exactly 7:07pm--the same time he was born.
We love you Cole!
