We had a great time in Texas. After my HS reunion, the kids and I stayed a while longer to maximize the cost and effort to travel down there. We had a wonderful visit, and it flew by much too quickly. To document the entire trip day by day would take forever, so I compiled a few collages of things we're already missing:
1) Grandma & Grandpa's back yard:
1) Grandma & Grandpa's back yard:
It was so wonderful to have a big backyard (everything's bigger in Texas, right?) where the kids could run around and explore. More than once we found Cole out in the makeshift sandbox all by himself. Whitney and Cole got along so well on the trampoline and with the bikes. And Annie loved wandering through the grass for no reason at all. Luckily we had pretty weather (and only got rain for a few days) while we were down there, so most of the kids' time was spent outside.
2) Grandma & Grandpa's house:
2) Grandma & Grandpa's house:

Cooking with Grandma, manicures, mini-trampoline, toy boxes, and more! The kids were SPOILED rotten. My cute mom would put a small treat under their pillow every night! It was partly an incentive to keep them in their bed, but mostly given because my mom says that's what Grandmas do. :) Seriously though, imagine the Grandma fairy coming every night for two weeks! I'm still trying to reprogram these kids: Texas is not reality! ha ha.
3) FAMILY:

Of course we miss Grandma & Grandpa. They conveniently escaped the lens of my camera, but I'll get them next time. Cole loved snuggling his grandparents, and Whitney was always the first to remember to give hugs and kisses before bed. Annie learned how to raise her hands high in the sky to answer the question, "Who loves Grandma?" It's a great new trick!
We loved spending time with Uncle Phil & Aunt Ashlee. It was their first time meeting Annie, and the kids had an instant bond with these two. Phil was a sweet "Phil"-in father for the kids - playing Guitar Hero, jumping on the tramp, and carving pumpkins for them. Ashlee was also a second mother for my kids. What a great help!
We also got to stop by my cousin's place for a quick visit. My mom, my cousin, and I got a great workout chasing around 7 kids - Whitney was the oldest! After a baby got stepped on and a cousin got his finger closed in the door (both within minutes of each other), we knew it was time to go. As you can tell from the picture above, Cole was the hardest one to control that day. Ahhh the joys.
4) The constant party:

4) The constant party:
I've said it before, but Grandma & Grandpa know how to party. We celebrated birthdays, played Don't Eat Pete, visited a pumpkin patch, rode carnival rides, went to a fun Chuck-E-Cheese-like place, visited the mall, the zoo (forgot my camera on that day-DOH!), and even sprayed silly string!
I hope we get to go back soon. Thanks for all the fun memories!

It looks like y'all had tons of fun! I LOVE going home to Texas to visit. Nothing like a second pair of hands to help and some spoiling grandparents.

Hey Nats, I had completely forgotten about the baby getting stepped on and the fingers caught in the door! You better stop kicking yourself for it, ya hear? I loved having you over and loved being able to spend time with y'all. Texas isn't the same without you!
I love all the fun pictures! There costumes are adorable. Annie is a perfect Tinkerbell. Do you think I could have put the phone down for one second to take a picture? gosh I miss those kids!
Played "Don't Eat Pete?"
A treat fairy? Oh, I've got to remember that one for when I'm a grandma. Your Mom is smart.
What a fun trip! You guys know how to have a good time. And I know what you mean about reprogramming the kids after the grandparents have their fun. :)
such fun!!!
Okay, this is totally random, Natalie, but how in the world did you make these cutie-pie collages? Is it a blogspot application?
Anj!
Man, I'm wondering what days you were there for. We went the weekend after the reunion and it sounds like we could've hooked up! Bummer! I'm glad you had such a fun visit. I'm sure Momsha was in 7th Heaven :).
