Last weekend Tyler & I were in Texas for my 10 year high school reunion. It was great to see old friends and acquaintances. I was really impressed with my class. There was a confidence and maturity in everyone I met up with. It was great to see how we all had changed - I would argue we all have changed for the best. I would post pictures, but they are on Tyler's camera back in Nor Cal.

Overall, the reunion was great. It was interesting for Tyler & me to see the differences in our 2 reunions. Comparing our high school experiences (So Cal versus small town Texas) was fun. Tyler's class had a majority of single people; my class had a majority of married people--most of whom married people from Texas. In Tyler's class there was a guy who owns a dance studio and trains famous dancers. In my class, we had electricians who were still working overtime to get people's power back on from Ike. The people in Tyler's class traveled from all over the US to come to the reunion. At my reunion, there was only 1 other guy who traveled outside of Texas to be there. Tyler thought he got more "bang for his buck" in Texas. He thought the TX food was better, the class directory was better, and the location was better than his reunion where we spent almost twice as much to attend. And how could I forget... he loved that there were no goosing incidents in Texas. Thanks to Brittany, I got this timely blog tag... So read on if you want to know about me 10 years ago.

16. What do you remember most about graduation? hoping and praying for good weather b/c the ceremony was at our football field. I also remember an irreverent class of kids that just got their diplomas and wouldn't be quiet for the closing prayer. Yes, they allowed prayer at school events back in my day. ha ha... like I'm so ancient.
17. Where did you go senior skip day? I think I went to school... I guess this falls in the category of "nerd" from question 7 above.
18. Were you in any clubs? yes - weren't we all in clubs because we were told if we weren't, then colleges wouldn't accept us?
19. Have you gained some weight since then? yes, gained and lost! I had 3 kids, remember?

21. Are you planning on going to your 10 year reunion? yep, went last weekend

This is totally Evan and I's debate: So Cal vs TX. It was crazy to me that for us to attend Evan's 10 year this year would have been $350 bucks - just for the tickets!
Glad you had fun!
I love how you called everyone you dated a "good friend." Yes, yes, good friends! I"m so jealous you get to go back to Texas to visit everyone! I wish my parents were still there so I could go back. And you were definitely NOT a nerd! Probably the most gorgeous girl in school!
What a hilarious post. Perfect that Tyler thinks he got more bang for his buck in TX, and perfect that you didn't get the "where'd you sit at lunch" question. You mean you weren't out smokin' doobies in your Honda Accord??? Okay, neither was I -- and it was a 79 Datsun B210 -- but I know people who did!!!
Keep blogging! I love this stuff!
I loved reading about what you thought of your self 10 years ago in H.S. I didn't think you were a nerd. To bad I only heard about the reunion when I read your post. I guess that happens when you move your senior year of high school. I am glad that you and your husband had fun.
God bless Texas. Now you need to post a picture of you in yo' sassy choir robes!! :) What fun!!
I took the liberty of tagging myself. ;) Peace Out.
That is awesome! I love reading about you and your high school memories! Especially the one about ending a speach with prayer. That is great!
I'm glad you had fun. How interesting that so many people stuck around and married locals. I'll take the tag...I'm a little behind on blogging :).
You soooo were not a nerd!! I loved your post and it brought back some memories myself.
