Celebr8

Woo-hoo! Whitney turned 8!
Cole & Annie smothered her with love as we presented her the birthday breakfast:
Then she found her hidden presents and took the obligatory hold-up-how-many-fingers-old-you-are picture
Annie was beyond excited to give Whitney the elmo coloring book and airheads that she picked out herself.
We got her this bike (she's been needing a bigger one forever), and Whitney said, "Cool! Thanks!" But the next words out of her mouth were, "Did you get this on Craigslist, mom?"
Guilty as charged. If I had bought it new, I would have had to spend $150 more, so I'd say I got a great deal!
One of her presents was a coupon to get her ears pierced, and she wanted to redeem it after school! So we dropped Cole off at baseball practice and took a trip to the mall for some girl time.
Whitney was SO brave! Her eyes got a little watery after that first hole punch, and when I asked if she was okay, she said, "Oh, it didn't hurt, it just startled me." She claims there was no pain at all... just some startling. :) I thought she picked out a really cute pair of earrings.

After checking out the cutest little puppies at the puppy store, we went home to eat Whitney's birthday dinner request of BBQ Chicken Salad.
Whitney iced and decorated her own cake :)

She went to her first Activity Days (8-11 year old girls at our church who get together twice a month for service projects, crafting, and... activities) activity on Tuesday, and it was a Talent Show. Tyler was a gem to capture her playing with his iphone. Check it out:

If there's one thing I've taught Whitney while teaching her lessons is: The faster you play it, the faster you're done!

I'm kidding... that wasn't really one of our lessons. Even though she turned into Speedy Gonzales that last half of the song, we thought she did gr8!!!

I can't get over how good Whit is at piano! That was awesome, and my untrained ears didn't even notice the speedup. Lovin the comment though. And big props for her bravery during the ear piercing - when I got my second set (a couple months before Pres. Hinckley counseled only one...doh! Wasted dough), I could not BELIEVE how much it hurt! Haha. Happy bday Whit!

What an amazingly talented little firecracker. You are doing a terrific job with lessons.

And is it true?!!! Ear piercing already? Crazy.
