Cole

Here's a peek into Cole's 6 year old life:

He loves it when I cook up oatmeal for breakfast. He'll eat a huge bowl. But he can't stand it when I cook eggs.
You can also usually find some sort of Lego invention attached to him. I think the invention in the picture above was a spaceship for some of his figurines.

He loves writing, and I love to see the work he brings home from school:
One day I came downstairs while he was working on his homework, and he came up with this for the writing prompt he was given:
I asked him where he learned the word "consume" and he said he read it in a library book!

He comes up with great names for things. At the Reagan Library, he couldn't get enough of the "rocket blasters" on Air Force One.

He surprised us all by telling the waitress that he wanted to order ribs (and not nuggets or grilled cheese) from the kids' menu at a BBQ joint the other day. We're pretty sure Cole had never even tried ribs before!
Cole is also my most loving, kind, patient, and compassionate kid to Shannon. He'll ask if he can read her stories at night. He laughs when she is pulling his hair out. He begs to push her in the stroller for me. And he's the first to run and comfort her when she's sad.
Cole even climbed up on the counter, got out a sippy cup, filled it with milk, screwed on the lid, and gave it to her the other day when I was in the shower. Talk about an awesome helper! I never dreamed of the day when I would have a big kid helping out (UNSOLICITED!) like that. I'm grateful we have a sweet brother like him in our family!
