My dad & my grandma came out to visit at the beginning of November. It was a quick weekend, but we packed in some fun memories!
Welcome to my home Grandma! I promise I don't usually let my kids run around homeless-looking! :/
My dad & grandma brought each of the kids their own goodie bags with prizes galore. It was like Christmas morning!!!
The kids played outside with grandpa for a while. Cole learned some baseball tricks,
Shannon was super huggy,
and they all had a silly string fight!
We went and grabbed some dinner at a rockin' pizza joint. The food was super, and the atmosphere was fun!
The next morning, Grandpa surprised everyone with donuts!! Major treat!
We decided to drive down to the Garden of the Gods--a pretty little mini-Moab-like place with walking trails and nature to explore. Wanna guess who barfed on the way down there?!
Oh it was nasty. Why can I not remember that I have a barf-prone kid and prepare better?! We stopped and got her a new outfit at the only store we could find--K-Mart. Thankfully Tyler had the other carseat in his car, so we were able to have a clean seat for her. Shannon was all smiles after getting it all out of her system.
So many beautiful sights to see!
Grandma was a total trooper keeping up with the Nelson herd!
This little baby has Tyler wrapped around her little finger
The kids wanted to show that they were at "Balancing Rock"
When we got to this site, my grandma said that she would stay in the car. But Cole didn't want her to be in the car by herself, so he promised her he'd help her up the rocks. He was so sweet with her, and Grandma was too sweet to say no to his offer!
After a great morning, we came home for lunch and then went over to the Romney Rally.
The Thunder Stix were a huge HIT!! ha ha
That night we left the sleeping kids home with Grandma while my dad, Tyler, & I went out for sushi. It was great to have a quiet dinner together and wrap up a fun weekend. We were so glad my dad & grandma could come out for a visit! :)
