Good luck being 33

We went and looked at the Christmas lights per the birthday tradition. Tyler remembered this and made sure we went a couple nights before my birthday because he knew we would be at a Spurs game on my actual birthday.
As cheezy as these lit up houses can get, we all got such a kick out of sitting in the car with our radio tuned in to the radio tower while watching the lights blink in sync with the music. The owner of the house was even dressed up as Santa and handed out candy canes to the kids.

The kids were pretty sweet on the morning of my birthday. Since Tyler had to leave super early for work that day, he left a gift card for the bagel shop for the kids to give to me. He wanted me to not have to cook my breakfast b/c he couldn't make breakfast in bed for me (and he knew I wouldn't appreciate breakfast in bed at 4:30am!).
Annie is MIA because she was SUPER sick that morning. She lounged in bed allllll day long just sad and lethargic. :( And all her barf made it into the toilet--best bday gift!!

I don't know where Whitney comes up with these things, but she made this list of "33 things we love about mom" on wrapping paper with Annie.
Cole's gift to me was a clean room with a game of "Limbo" set up in his clean room! I am still kicking myself that I didn't get a picture of his make-shift limbo game--an elastic string that stretched from his small chair to his dresser drawer, maybe a foot off the floor. That kid cracks me up!

Whitney's scroll letter made me smile as well...
"The last think I will say is Good Luck (shamrock "u"!!) being 33!" Thanks Whitney! I need all the luck I can get. :)

Tyler's mom, brother, & his little family came in town (while on their way moving from Missouri to California) that night of my bday while we were at the basketball game, and it was so great seeing them again. After the dust settled and everyone left (a few days before Christmas), Tyler came home with this:
...which cracked me up because I hadn't even noticed (or cared!) that we didn't do a birthday cake on my bday. I tell you what though, that boy is pretty sweet with remembering special details and trying to be consistent with our little traditions. I sure appreciate him!
