Thanksgiving Day

I hadn't spent a Thanksgiving with my mom since 2003 when I was pregnant with Whitney! I was way over due for a Turkey Day visit in Texas.

We started out the morning with a turkey trot at a local park and had the kids run laps around a soccer field. Look at those serious faces!

Shannon got a kick out of Tyler jogging with her.

Whitney & Lauren stuck together like glue--encouraging each other on through their laps.

After the kids' race, the women and children ate breakfast while the husbands had a "Johnny Football Championship."

We handed out some medals for the kids. Annie wasn't big into running, but she had a good attitude for the few laps she ran.

The rest of the day was spent cooking delicious food. 

We sure enjoyed our feast!

We spent the next day hanging out with everyone before driving out first thing Saturday. It was so fun seeing these little cousins together, and we especially loved seeing all my family again.
